Getting to Know Yamada Consulting Group

Yamada Consulting Group is one of Japan's leading independent consulting, research and investment advisory firms. Yamada Consulting Group is led by President, Keisaku Masuda.

Founded in 1989 as Tokyo Financial Planners Co., Ltd., a consultancy for financial planning, including training and education of financial planners, the firm soon expanded into insurance, real estate, information and investment advisory services. Expertise in financial restructuring and business succession earned it a reputation as a go-to resource for helping firms develop and implement successful growth strategies.

Yamada Consulting Group was formally established in 2000 to provide comprehensive research, strategy and business consulting services with an expanded focus on overseas expansion, primarily for Japanese companies.

Through targeted acquisitions and partnerships with leading firms across the region, Yamada Consulting Group has successfully paired its deep consulting and research expertise with the global knowledge and execution capabilities of its overseas subsidiaries and business partners.

In 2016, Yamada acquired Spire Research and Consulting, a market research firm with a footprint spanning 35 countries as well as Latin America, Russia/CIS/Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Spire’s extensive network and its track record of work with Fortune 1000 firms, non profits, SMBs and government agencies has made it an unrivaled leader in research on global emerging markets. Spire Research, headquartered in Singapore is led by CEO Leon Perera.

Yamada Consulting Group has a team of over 800 consultants, researchers and managers with experience conducting research and consulting projects across a wide range of sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail, construction, real-estate, transportation, telecommunications, finance, hospitality, food services, entertainment and healthcare.
